Referee’s Beginner School – October 2017

Keilor Basketball Association (KBA) will again be running a Referees Beginner School in October 2017. For information on specifc dates, please visit http://www.keilorbasketball.com.au/referees/.

Beginner School for individuals who are interested in becoming a basketball referee.

Age
Participants are required to be over 14 years or older by May 1st, 2017.

Accreditation
At the completion of this course, referees will be an accredited Victorian C Grade referee.

Fees & Charges
$100 (includes workbook, use of a green shirt, VBRA Registration and Black/White Shirt)

  • Week 1 Thursday 12/10/17
  • Week 2- Sunday 15/10/17
  • Week 3 – Sunday 22/10/17
  • Week 4 – Thursday 9/11/17
  • NOTE: You must be available for all theory sessions.

Course Content
The course follows the Victorian Basketball Referee Association’s C.R.A.M.P. Referee Training Program and includes:

  • Calling fouls and violations – making the game safe and fair
  • Mechanics – where to move on the court
  • Presentation – signals and looking confident
  • Communication – making clear calls
